Coronavirus Updates and the Lacrosse Community

Arizona Outlaws Lacrosse

Return to Play Precautions and Safety Protocol

As you are well aware, our Arizona Outlaws Lacrosse coaching staff believes, before all other things, we need to protect the health and well-being of our players, families and staff.  Through these unprecedented times, we will take additional precautions to keep our members safe as we resume play.  Although we will have to alter how we hold sessions on the box/field in the short-term, there some steps (below) we need your support to help manage off-the-field/floor.

General guidelines from the CDC to help individuals prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses include:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

As it relates specifically to lacrosse, here are some additional recommended preventative measures:

  • Encourage anyone who is sick (players, coaches, officials, fans) to stay away from activities. Consider encouraging fans with medical conditions (i.e. heart or pulmonary conditions, diabetes) that may make them more at risk for COVID-19 to avoid mass gatherings.
  • Avoid handshakes in postgame handshake lines.
  • Use good hygiene practices with water bottles.
  • Properly clean and sanitize lacrosse equipment.
  • Bring hand sanitizer to events.

We appreciate everyone’s support and we hope that all coaches, players and parents can cooperate with these steps as we look to enhance our safety measures. Please expect that this process will take some time, and as the time passes, we will adjust accordingly. Thank you for your patience and we look forward to seeing you all on the floor/field in the upcoming weeks.
